While we are shocked and filled with grief, we know that she would want us to celebrate her life instead of mourning her death. Mrs. Barbara Jean McDonald, 88, of Livingston, Texas was born June 12, 1931 in Everette, Washington to parents, Robert VanPatten and Elisabeth VanPatten, and passed away April 18, 2020 in Livingston, Texas.

Bill will be sorely missed for his cooking, his sense of humor, his laugh, his mentorship, and his love of all those around him. Bill was always willing to cook for and to serve the people of his community, and always with a jovial attitude and a smile. One of his greatest pleasures in life was community service. Debra Ann Taylor, 59, of Livingston, Texas was born June 21, 1960 in Sandusky, Ohio, to parents, James Michael Taylor, Sr. and June Francis Taylor, and passed away May 23, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. Lincoln Buckley Smith, 85, of Point Blank, Texas was born January 9, 1935 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to parents, Alfred Smith and Catharine Smith and passed away on July 17, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. Being a dedicated Christian, Lucy was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Corrigan, working in the nursery and spoiling the children every chance she got.

Robert Kennedy, speaking for the president, urged the Freedom Riders to "get off the buses and leave the matter to peaceful settlement in the courts". Funeral services for Charles Wayne “Mott” Birdwell, 72, of Marthaville, LA will be held at 1 P.M. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Bethel Congregational Methodist Church with Bro. Funeral services under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home, Coushatta, LA. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, George Manasco and Margaret Self, Henry Eddie Buxton, Sr. and Della Paul Buxton, Vernie and Evon Thaxton, and Edward and Marie Sparks.
In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time at the lake fishing. In her spare time, you could find her rooting for her favorite football teams, the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys. She also enjoyed cooking a hot meal for everyone and she made sure you never left her house hungry. She was known for the best deviled eggs and everyone that ate them was eager to have the recipe. Art lost his mother at an early age and grew up with his aunt and uncle in Farmersville, Texas. He joined the US Navy and served during WW2 in the South Pacific as a medical corpsman.
Kathy was a sales manager for the PACTIV corporation, a member of First United Methodist Church of Livingston, Texas and was also a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Imogene Shell, former resident of Livingston, Texas, passed away on July 12th, 2020. She was born July 20th, 1933 in Memphis, Tennessee to Mary Alice Nichols.

She was born August 21, 1922 to parents Jewel and Selma Watters in Las Vegas New Mexico. During her life, Louise married and was later widowed by Jack B. Baucom and later she married and was widowed by John M. Ladue. Private family services will be held for Patsy Ann Skinner, 70, of Corrigan. Patsy was born November 4, 1949 in Camden to Bernard and Lois Marie Skinner and passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 in Corrigan.

He was a devoted family man and a loyal friend. He was one of those rare individuals who made others feel that they were better people for having known him. Memorial graveside services for Mr. Douglas Wright Curtis, 94, will be held at Zion hill Cemetery in Negreet, Saturday March 13, 2021 at 2 p.m. He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Conner Allan Miller, Grandmother Linda Marie Miller and Grandfather Felix Sonny LaCaze and a cousin Gregory Randle Singletary. After graduating high school in 2016 he became sick with heart failure and was blessed to receive a LVAD to help prolong his life and hopefully get him to a heart transplant. After he was able to go back to work, He worked at Jim South Propane in Many, La.
